Nell's Prickly Problem
A hedgehog learns to calm her anger with one slow breath
- Ages 3–6

About the book
Nell the hedgehog loves racing through the golden autumn leaves with her forest friends, but when she loses, her spines pop up sharp and she accidentally hurts the ones she loves most. Soon her friends step back, and Nell is left sitting alone under a big oak tree, sad and confused about the angry feeling that comes so fast. A wise owl named Olli asks her one gentle question, and Nell notices her pounding heart and tight chest. Then she remembers something calming: blowing dandelion seeds slowly into the breeze. This gentle feelings book for kids shows how one slow breath can soften sharp spines and bring friends back together, with silly acorn-hat giggles along the way. Young listeners will cheer as Nell teaches her trick to everyone in the forest. Read aloud at bedtime, this warm story invites little ones to breathe along with Nell and feel proud of their own calm moments.
