Mossy Hollow Books introduces picture books and links to the stores that sell them. We collect as little as we can. This page explains what we collect, why, and for how long.
Who is responsible
Oğuz Kaan Karacan, Türkiye, is responsible for this website. Contact: oguzkaankaracan@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Email list: your email address, the language you chose and the time you gave consent. Nothing else: no name, no age, no information about children.
- Buy button clicks: which book, format, store and country (from your connection, at country level only) and where the click came from (for example a video). These are counted as numbers; they are not linked to you.
- Visit statistics: anonymous page views without cookies.
- Server logs: our hosting provider briefly processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure.
What we don't do
- We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising.
- We don't sell or share your email address.
- We don't knowingly collect data from children. This site is meant for parents and teachers.
Why we may do this
- Email list: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with the link in every email.
- Click counts, visit statistics and security: our legitimate interest in running and improving the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed sign-ups: deleted automatically after 7 days.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe.
- Click counts: daily totals, kept for about 13 months.
- Sign-up rate limit: a one-way hash of your IP address, deleted after 1 hour.
Who processes data for us
We use a hosting provider, a database provider for click counts and sign-ups, and an email delivery provider. They process data only on our instructions. Some of them are located in the United States; transfers are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Write to oguzkaankaracan@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example in your country of residence. For visitors in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) applies as well.
Changes
If this page changes, the date above changes too. We will not use your data for new purposes without asking.
